Compensation: The salary range for this position is estimated to be $60,265.00 – $125,909.00 annualized, which reflects the company’s current estimate of the potential compensation range at the time of posting. This salary range reflects the anticipated compensation for this position and represents one component of the total rewards package. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, qualifications, and allotted budget. About Our Opportunity
The Financial Officer is responsible for marketing, marketplace development, communication, relationship building and overall growth of the marketplace portfolio through a focused balance of sales, marketing, and support of agricultural loans. Uses an understanding of agriculture and finance to sell Farm Credit Mid-America financial products by building strong relationships and developing an in-depth understanding of each customer's and prospect's financial position and operation. Through product and industry knowledge, the Financial Officer will build and maintain their portfolio by identifying potential opportunities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Association's credit standards and procedures.
The Financial Officer contributes independently to routine and recurring work with growing confidence and consistency. It applies established procedures, manages assigned responsibilities effectively, and collaborates with others to support business outcomes. Team members at this level are expanding functional knowledge, strengthening judgment, and developing problem-solving skills within defined parameters.
This position requires existing NMLS registration under the SAFE Act, or the ability to obtain the same upon hire, and maintenance of a status in good standing during employment.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Manages an assigned customer portfolio while developing new business with existing and prospective customers to increase market share, promote and sell loan products, cross‑sell products and services, and deliver a customer experience aligned with the Association’s mission.
- Develops and maintains a strong professional presence within the assigned territory by building relationships with customers and influencers, and demonstrating agricultural expertise across multiple agricultural industries.
- Applies a consultative approach by understanding customer operational goals, credit strengths, and opportunities to deliver constructive agricultural and financial products and services.
- Designs and recommends innovative financial packages by advising customers on financial information and competitively pricing loans based on risk, profitability, and customer needs.
- Partners with analysts and other internal stakeholders, including Special Accounts when appropriate, to discuss credit packages, participate in consensus decision‑making, and support effective credit resolution.
- Ensures sound credit administration by adhering to regulatory and policy requirements, gathering and documenting required customer information, and clearly communicating credit decisions, loan terms, conditions, and expectations while maintaining confidentiality and customer confidence.
- Completes routine assignments independently using established procedures and sound judgment.
- Applies working knowledge to resolve common issues and identifies when to seek guidance.
- Communicates clearly with teammates and internal partners to support coordinated work.
- Organizes workload to meet deadlines and deliver consistent, reliable outcomes.
- Contributes ideas that strengthen processes, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Uses available tools and resources to resolve straightforward issues and improve confidence.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years relevant experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree with 1 years relevant experience preferred.

Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds.
