Location: Open to sit in any retail office, but preference given to Indiana or Ohio

Compensation: The salary range for this position is estimated to be $74,190.00 – $141,221.00 annualized, which reflects the company’s current estimate of the potential compensation range at the time of posting. This salary range reflects the anticipated compensation for this position and represents one component of the total rewards package. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, qualifications, and allotted budget. About Our Opportunity
The Collateral Analyst Chattel serves as a trusted collateral consultant, delivering complex chattel, business, and multi-asset valuations that support sound credit decisions across the Association. This role provides specialized expertise in agricultural assets, coordinates large and complex valuation projects, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen collateral analysis, portfolio quality, and customer outcomes.
The Collateral Analyst Chattel applies solid functional knowledge and sound judgment to deliver dependable, high-quality work with minimal direction. Team members at this level manage moderately complex responsibilities, balance priorities effectively, and contribute meaningful insights that support team and functional performance. They are trusted to navigate varied situations, identify improvement opportunities, and operate with increasing autonomy.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Completes complex chattel, business, and multi-asset valuations and collateral analyses, supporting accurate risk assessment and lending decisions.
- Verifies reported collateral through document review, site inspections, owner interviews, and third-party data sources, strengthening valuation reliability and portfolio quality.
- Leads and coordinates large, multi-asset valuation projects in partnership with appraisers and collateral professionals across the Association.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates commodity price guidelines and other valuation resources that support consistent collateral decisions.
- Reviews chattel appraisals and valuations, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides training to enhance team capabilities and delegated authority readiness.
- Partners with lending teams, customers, industry contacts, and Farm Credit System stakeholders to support business development, address complex collateral needs, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Manages assigned work with minimal direction delivering a high degree of accuracy, quality and timely completion.
- Applies functional knowledge and judgment to evaluate information and make informed decisions.
- Anticipates needs, manages competing priorities, and proactively communicates status or risks.
- Supports process improvements by identifying gaps and recommending practical solutions.
- Collaborates effectively across teams to advance shared goals and business outcomes.
- Serves as a resource to less experienced team members through informal guidance.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED with 7 years relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree with 3 years relevant experience preferred.
Mental & Physical Requirements
While performing the responsibilities of this role, team members typically sit for extended periods, use hands for computer and office tasks, and communicate verbally. Standing or walking may be required on a frequent basis, with occasional reaching, lifting, or moving items weighing up to ten pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision. The work environment generally involves a moderate noise level.
This role requires sustained mental focus, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, with extended computer use common. Some positions may include additional physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as holding a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel long distances.
