COMPENSATION: $48,008.00 to $87,738.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

The Credit Analyst serves the Association's internal and external customers by preparing and analyzing financial loan packages for system and manual underwriting decisions in a timely manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Credit Analysts construct value-added credit analyses for all levels and types of operations.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Enable effective communication with customers by working in conjunction with sales and credit partners to convey and support financial analysis.
  • Partner with sales team members to gain clarity around customer financials and/or operational changes that could impact financial analysis.
  • Confirm, assemble, and build financial analyses utilizing balance sheets, tax returns, income statements, and cash flow statements into the Association’s portfolio management database for Retail Ag customers.
  • Provide financial analysis support for Credit Officers, Retail, Rural 1st, Special Accounts, or Agribusiness teams. Analyze, service, and monitor loans of varying risk and complexity, including larger loan amounts that may be more complex and/or have higher risk exposure.
  • Use critical thinking and research to make financial adjustments such as adding projections for complex and/or high-risk operations, evaluating financial trends, and applying applicable industry knowledge within loan analysis.
  • Utilize independent decision-making to grant exceptions to processing procedures.
  • Analyze credit packages to ensure an accurate representation of customer’s financial position. Additional calculations may be necessary to support analysis of borrowers with multiple entities, and/or other unique characteristics.
  • In some instances, Credit Analysts may approve loans within delegated authority or recommend approval of sound decisions involving loan structure, terms, and conditions.
  • Build expertise in the areas of agriculture, credit, finance, technology, and other needs of the marketplace.

Minimum Education & Experience

High School diploma plus a combination of related experience or specialized training. Demonstrated ability to understand business technology and apply it efficiently and effectively. Experience with balance sheets, income information and trend analysis.

Mental & Physical Requirements

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
