COMPENSATION: $49,208.00 to $100,487.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

The Credit Analyst serves the Association's internal and external customers by preparing and analyzing financial loan packages for system and manual underwriting decisions in a timely manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Credit Analysts construct value-added credit analyses for all levels and types of operations.

This role builds foundational knowledge and skills to contribute to core work within the team. Team members at this level focus on learning processes, applying guidance from more experienced colleagues, and delivering accurate work in a supportive, structured environment.  They are developing confidence, strengthening capability, and gaining familiarity with our systems, relationships, and expectations.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Develops comprehensive financial analyses by assembling and validating balance sheets, income statements, tax returns, cash flow statements, and related data to accurately represent customers’ financial positions.
  • Partners cross‑functionally with sales, credit, and relationship teams to understand customer financials and operational changes, support effective customer communication, and ensure analyses reflect current conditions and risks.
  • Analyzes loan servicing requests across varying levels of risk and complexity, including larger or higher‑risk relationships, while providing financial analysis support to Credit Officers and other internal teams.
  • Applies critical thinking and independent judgment to evaluate financial trends, incorporate projections, adjust analyses for complex or multi‑entity borrowers, grant justified process exceptions, and, in some instances, recommend or approve loans within delegated authority.
  • Builds and applies subject‑matter expertise in agriculture, finance, credit, technology, and industry trends to strengthen credit decisions, risk assessment, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Completes assigned tasks accurately by following established processes, guidance, and quality standards. 
  • Applies direction and from more experienced team members to build skill, confidence, and reliability. 
  • Maintains organized, complete, and dependable work products that support team workflow. 
  • Asks questions to clarify expectations and deepen understanding of systems, processes, and procedures. 
  • Contributes to team goals through collaboration, communication, and consistent follow-through.
  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen personal work habits, accuracy, and efficiency as skills develop. 

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Mental & Physical Requirements

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
