SCHEDULE: Full Time, Hybrid
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 10%
COMPENSATION: $89,614.00 to $174,051.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
The Director of Training provides direct leadership for the Association's training and learning programs, providing team members with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to succeed in both sales, operational, and enterprise roles. This role oversees a cross-functional team responsible for sales enablement, operational training, learning operations, and the summer intern program. In addition, the Director leads new team member orientation efforts to deliver consistent, high-quality onboarding experiences. This position partners with business leaders, Human Resources, and subject matter experts to build a culture of continuous learning and performance excellence across the Association.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Leads, coaches, and develops a team of learning professionals including Operations Training Managers, Sales and Financial Training Managers, and the Human Capital Coordinator.
- Provides day-to-day oversight and leads team members and self by modeling values, inspiring a shared vision, and encouraging continuous learning and development.
- Defines team operating standards, monitors internal procedures and processes and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements to manage operational risks.
- Develops and executes a strategic training and enablement roadmap aligned with organizational goals and talent strategies.
- Develops, monitors, and manages the training function's annual budget aligning resources with organizational goals and fiscal accountability.
- Delivers effective, scalable training across the sales lifecycle, operations, and service functions.
- Manages the planning and execution of the Association’s summer internship program in coordination with HR and business leaders.
- Partners with HR and business leaders to assess training needs, deliver solutions, and measure the impact of learning programs on performance.
- Leads and supports the design and delivery of new team member orientation experiences.
- Champions continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and the integration of new learning technologies and methods.
- Establishes and maintains trusting, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement improved processes and tools that facilitate operational excellence and enhance the customer and team member experience.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience required. Builds foundational leadership skills, understands team responsibilities, and develops emerging competence in leadership practices, coaching, decision-making, and technical mastery to effectively support their team and achieve operational goals.
Mental & Physical Requirements
While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
