COMPENSATION: $57,361.00 to $106,984.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

Our Financial Analyst Credit Food and Agribusiness supports the team's loan underwriting and monitoring processes by completing consistent financial input, assisting loan underwriters with financial analysis, and monitoring covenant compliance for loans in the Food and Agribusiness portfolio.

About Our Food & Agribusiness Team 
The Food and Agribusiness team is responsible for servicing the Association's corporate and commercial lending customers. The portfolio includes originated loans, including those where Farm Credit Mid-America may be the administrative agent with exposure sold to other lenders, and purchased interests in multi-bank syndications, participations, and other debt instruments.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Confirm, assemble, and input financial data from accountant prepared financial statements and/or tax returns, including balance sheets, income statements, and projections, into the appropriate analysis tool for complex and/or high-risk operations where interpretation of data, recommended direction, independent decision-making, and additional research may be required. 
  • Develop peer comparisons and compare trends in the relevant industry that supports the analysis of borrowers with specialized farm, food, or agribusiness operations. 
  • Support Credit Officers in generating high quality analysis and credit packages. 
  • Monitor large, complex, and/or high-risk accounts for covenant compliance and reporting requirements. 
  • Prepare and analyze data for lead lender due diligence and annual updates. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. 
  • Serve in varied roles for special projects and/or represent the team on cross-functional teams throughout the Association. 
  • Play an active role in helping to define and bring consistency to the financial input and monitoring for Food and Agribusiness accounts. 
  • Collaborate with team members in an effective and consistent manner that reflects the collective goals of the department and association. 
  • Provide cross-training and mentoring of new employees and other Financial Analysts as needed.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related field. At least one successful year of experience in a related role. Demonstrated consistent performance and understanding of the role’s technical competencies.
