COMPENSATION: $57,361.00 to $106,984.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

The Food and Agribusiness Loan Servicing Analyst / Sr. Food and Agribusiness Loan Analyst provides exceptional internal and external support in the delivery of financial services and loan accounting needs for Participations, Syndications, Investments, Secondary Markets, Capital Markets. This position is expected to analyze and resolve a wide variety of complex accounting, accounting system, and treasury management issues and deliver solutions where precedent may not exist. This position will independently manage and maintain assigned portfolios, more complex in nature than those of FAB Loan Servicing Specialist. They proactively solution to improve processes and workflow.  The Analyst and Senior Analyst will also be responsible for training and developing teammates, which includes monitoring the quality of work among the team.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Establishes, develops, and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough, responsive, and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Works with borrowers and internal partners to understand customer goals and delivers value- added / constructive financial information.
  • Process, review and approve requested financial transactions and complex calculations originated from business partners across multiple time-zones, while also validating transactions generated by teammates.
  • Executes domestic and international daily cash management and banking duties, including cash movements (wire transfer, ACH, settlement), cash/non-cash posting, payment issue resolution.
  • Respond to various operational issues of the highest complexity within commitment and loan processing and documentation area including custom accrual, pricing, payment, and billing.
  • Resolves highest level escalated issues or complicated research requests from internal and external customers.
  • Enforces association fraud prevention and compliance by processing and obtaining approval for outgoing wires, ACH disbursement setups, and fraud review.
  • Monitors reports and takes further action as appropriate.
  • Identifies new banking innovations and emerging technologies that can be leveraged to drive process standardization, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve controls.
  • Partners across organizations and cross-functional teams to implement strategic and operational improvements to support business growth, enhance internal controls and efficiencies.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of accounting systems, association practices and procedures, GAAP guidelines, and cash management products and protocols to provide technical support to Farm Credit Mid-America internal/external teams, while maintaining the integrity and control processes surrounding treasury and cash management functions.
  • Creates reports and data monitoring tools to maintain the integrity of the accounting system and related applications.
  • Maintaining data integrity by performing database testing and validation in support of department and/or association projects as needed.
  • Monitors and reviews team process and manuals for accuracy and facilitates the updates for changes in process and/or accounting practices.
  • Reads and interprets participation agreements, Loan Agreements and Credit Agreements as it relates to loan servicing and administration.
  • Reconciles and handles payout of partner patronage.
  • Reconciles General Ledger activity.
  • Provides support to office audits conducted by internal and external auditors.          

Minimum Education & Experience

Associate’s Degree or equivalent classroom hours (years of relevant professional level work experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements). 
Four years of experience in loan servicing, accounting, banking, or financially related customer support while using a variety of business software, demonstrating proficiency in Excel. Farm Credit experience is preferred.

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work
environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
