TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 5%
COMPENSATION: $44,552.00 to $80,604.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
The Records and Information Specialist ensures the integrity, organization, and accessibility of the Association's physical and electronic records. The role manages document processing activities such as classification, indexing,
quality validation, and lifecycle management within enterprise content systems. It also supports intelligent document processing, automation workflows, and secure custody of original collateral loan documents in a
controlled vault environment. The specialist collaborates with business, technology, compliance, and audit teams to ensure accurate governance of records and supports continuous improvement of records practices.
This role builds foundational knowledge and skills to contribute to core work within the team. Team members at this level focus on learning processes, applying guidance from more experienced colleagues, and delivering
accurate work in a supportive, structured environment. They are developing confidence, strengthening capability, and gaining familiarity with our systems, relationships, and expectations.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Perform document classification, indexing, quality validation, and lifecycle management within enterprise content systems, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and accessible.
- Review, classify, and validate customer, third-party, and loan-related documents, including verification of intelligent document processing (IDP) outputs and resolution of exceptions.
- Monitor and manage document processing queues and workflows, including separation and classification of multi-document submissions, to meet service level expectations.
- Research and resolve document discrepancies, indexing errors, and processing issues, escalating complex cases as needed and supporting internal customers with inquiries and retrieval requests.
- Provide custodial management of physical and electronic collateral documents, including secure receipt, storage, inventory tracking, reconciliation, and exception resolution within a controlled vault environment.
- Support records retention schedules, lifecycle management processes, and records research activities to meet business, audit, and regulatory needs while identifying opportunities for workflow and automation improvements.
- Completes assigned tasks accurately by following established processes, guidance, and quality standards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience processing, organizing, or maintaining documents/records in a corporate environment with strong attention to detail preferred.

Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
