COMPENSATION: $43,465.00 to $87,738.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

Rural 1st Escrow Specialist provides exceptional internal and external customer service by supporting the delivery of Escrow servicing needs. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality and accuracy of customer and Escrow data within our Servicing systems.  Specialist identify issues by coordinating with internal and external customers, vendors, and 3rd party agencies and develop appropriate solutions to ensure a seamless experience.  Specialist ensure that policies and procedures are current comply with changes in regulations or guidelines to minimize risk to the association. 

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Establishes, develops, and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough, responsive, and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Works with borrowers and internal partners to understand customer goals, and delivers value- added/ constructive Escrow services information.
  • Provides excellent customer service by answering internal and external customer calls and providing innovative solutions.
  • Acquire and maintain expertise in accounting systems, association practices and procedures to provide technical support
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain escrow accounts.
  • Monitor reports and analyze customer escrow accounts for data accuracy, timely payments and to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Produce and analyze escrow analysis statements, including overage, shortage and deficiency situations.
  • Performs analysis of Escrow requests by preparing accounting entries involving calculations and transactions.
  • Assist both internal and external customers with escrow inquires and conduct research as needed.
  • Complies with federal and state statutes/regulations, company policies and procedures.
  • Monitors reports and takes further action as appropriate.

Minimum Education & Experience

Associate's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required. Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred. Plus one year experience in escrow servicing, loan servicing, accounting, banking or financially related customer support while using a variety of business software, demonstrating proficiency in Excel.

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
