SCHEDULE:  Full Time 
TRAVEL REQUIRED:  0% - 5% 

 

COMPENSATION: $46,837.00 to $95,645.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

Our Closing Specialist (CS) provides exceptional internal and external customer experiences by directing and performing the loan closing function for the team.Team members in this role own and facilitate workflow and communication details after loan approval to satisfy closing requirements, loan conditions, and meet customer needs.  

This role is responsible for compliance with all regulations and procedures from loan approval to loan certification. They are expected to coordinate with their Retail Operations team to accommodate customer needs in retail locations throughout the marketplace. This includes but is not limited to office coverage and serving as a backup to other roles as needed.  

How You Will Spend Your Time


CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS  

  • Creates a positive customer experience by delivering timely and thorough service in a way that exceeds customer expectations while meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Primary contact for customer, 3rd party vendors, partners, and peers.  Recognizes customer needs and is proficient in selling appropriate products and services to customers. 
  • Utilizes technology effectively to serve customers. 
     

DELIVERS AND SERVICES CREDIT 

  • Facilitates the final stages of the lending process from loan approval to loan certification. 
  • Coordinates directly with customer, 3rd party vendors, partners/peers to gather appropriate requirements and documentation. 


COMPLIANCE AND CREDIT ADMINISTRATION 

  • Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements, prepares accurate loan closing packages. 
  • Confirms requirements for title, appraisal, and any loan conditions. 
  • Completes necessary actions for loan accuracy and certification. 
  • Follows guidance in all process guides as appropriate for the role.

Minimum Education & Experience

Extensive knowledge of agricultural industry (personal, professional or educational) is preferred.  Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business or related field or high school diploma and at least six years of successful experience in two or more of the following areas: financial related customer service, loan processing or loan servicing.

Mental and Physical Requirements

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
