SCHEDULE:  Full Time, Hybrid 
TRAVEL REQUIRED:  50% to 75% 


COMPENSATION: $197,961.00 to $412,374.00  base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

The Senior Vice President Agricultural Lending is primarily responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the association's sales teams in conformance with the Association business plan. Leads and coaches Regional Vice Presidents Agricultural Lending and Portfolio Managers in the Arkansas and Southeast Missouri assigned territory to achieve association objectives, including quality sales and customer service, while maintaining the appropriate financial and risk profile balance.   The Senior Vice President Agricultural Lending also serves on the Leadership Team.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Providing strategic leadership for the association’s business plan relative to agricultural and commercial lending, by delivering desired results measured by sales, credit quality, credit administration, effective servicing and financial results, and appropriate statewide annual operating budget management.
  • Leading by modeling our values, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, encouraging and enabling others to act.
  • Collaborating with peers on strategic direction in agriculture and commercial lending to ensure the success of Ag retail.
  • Accountable for the performance, budget and results of the strategic discipline within assigned territory, association and system impact.
  • Creating and executing long-term and short-term strategy for marketplace in alignment with the association priorities; this includes workflow structure, products and marketplace positioning.
  • Participating in the strategic planning for the association and initiative prioritization.
  • Granting authorities, setting standards, evaluating performance, correcting deficiencies, coaching and developing skills, effective and efficient review of credit analysis, regulatory compliance and procedural compliance.
  • Representing functional expertise in the Leadership Team, working together with Executive Committee and other peers to plan for and make association decisions.
  • Coordinating, leading, and providing guidance on initiatives and special projects.
  • Communicating and networking with other association leaders, Regulator Leadership, and/or political organizations to represent the needs of association customers. Maintaining strong strategic external partnerships.
  • Looking beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems.
  • Exercising management authority in performance reviews, compensation decisions, recruitment, discipline, and other employment decisions developing skills, coaching, and retention.

Minimum Education & Experience

Requires at least seven (7) years of professional experience in financial services and business development and seven (7) years in a leadership role. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, finance or related field is required.

Mental & Physical Requirements

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
