TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 10%
COMPENSATION: $46,837.00 to $85,598.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Our Closing Specialist is responsible for activities related to the preparation, review and processing of loan documentation by directing and performing the loan closing process. Team members in this role own and facilitate the workflow and communication details after loan approval to satisfy closing requirements, loan conditions, and meets customer needs. The Closing Specialist is responsible for compliance with all regulations and procedures from loan approval to loan certification. This role is expected to coordinate with team members to accommodate customer needs throughout the marketplace.
Our Senior Closing Specialist is a subject matter expert in all activities related to the preparation, review and processing of loan documentation by directing and performing the loan closing process. Team members in this role proactively own and facilitate the workflow and communication details after loan approval to satisfy closing requirements, loan conditions, and meets customer needs. This role is responsible for compliance with all regulations and procedures from loan approval to loan certification.
The Senior Closing Specialist coordinates with team members to accommodate customer needs throughout the marketplace working with high volume and complex loans. This role mentors, trains, and serves as a continuous resource for team members, partners, and other departments across the association by inspiring, collaborating, enhancing processes and innovative solutions. Champions and supports organizational change, continuous improvement and the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Creates a positive customer experience by delivering timely, and thorough service in a way that exceeds customer expectations while meeting internal and external deadlines.
- Primary contact for customer, vendors, partners, and peers. Recognizes customer needs and is proficient in selling appropriate secondary products and services to customers.
- Confirms requirements for title, appraisal, and any loan conditions. Facilitates the final stages of the lending process from loan approval to loan certification.
- Ability to communicate and clarify complex information in a clear and concise manner with internal and external parties.
- Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements, gathers appropriate requirements and documentation to prepare accurate loan closing packages. Follows guidance in all process guides as appropriate for the role.
- Assists with office coverage and serves as a backup to other roles.
Additional duties for Senior:
- Serves as a mentor, trainer, resource and informal team lead for retail operations peers.
- Works with high volume and complex loans.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Two years experience in financial related customer service, loan processing, or loan servicing. Knowledge of agricultural industry preferred.

Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
